If you are looking to bring a new puppy into your family, then you may want to consider getting a French Bulldog puppy. There are a lot of things about this breed that makes them fantastic family dogs, and you can learn about many of their wonderful qualities by reading this article. Here are some of the things that you should know about this breed:

French Bulldogs have a nice size to them

If you are looking for a dog that will fit right in with the rest of the family, then you want one that won't take up too much room in the house. Some breeds are so large that you can find yourself needing to climb over them in order to move about through a room. However, French Bulldogs only grow to be about a foot tall at the withers, and they generally weigh under 30 pounds. This makes them a nice size to share space with. They can even fit nicely on your lap when you want to snuggle with them in this manner.

French Bulldogs are nice and laid back

When you want a dog that is going to be spending a lot of time inside of the home with you and the rest of the family you want one that is going to behave and not be so rambunctious that it is destructive and too hyper for the family space. A French Bulldog is great for indoors because they are relaxed enough to enjoy just laying around and being close to the members of the family. However, when the kids want to take them in the yard and play for a little bit, they will also have a good time doing this. However, you can't count on this breed to have an excessive amount of energy, so you want to be sure you don't take them on very long walks or on rough hikes.

French Bulldogs don't require a lot of grooming

When you get some breeds of dogs, you can end up needing to take them to the groomers often in order to keep their coats in good condition. When you go with a French Bulldog, you can bathe and brush them right at home and keep their coat looking great. As long as you start early with clipping their nails, you should even have an easy time doing this as well. When you bathe them, you do want to be careful with the water around their snout to avoid getting water in their nose and mouth.
